Our guide, Juan Carlos (the Juan Carlos from Bolivia), was amazing. Puerto Ayora is not within walking distance but the staff will arrange for a taxi.
Our brief stay was far too short. Take rubber boots, as the trails in this cloud forest do not dry out, and some of them are fairly steep. For specific inquiries, we recommend calling ahead to confirm. Rooms are excellent and I had an amazing view. The lodge itself is rustic and charming, and run in an environmentally sensitive way.

On hot days you can take a dip in the pool, relax in hammock and enjoy the serenity of the place. The room was spacious with the most amazing views. In addition to the musty bed, which could be slightly excusable given the cloud forest/rainy season situation, what wasn't excusable was the bathroom that reeked of urine, as if the last person who stayed there completely missed the toilet and no one bothered to disinfect the floor since. Quito international airport is 53 mi away and free private parking is possible on site. As adventure Motorcyclists (BMW/GS), it was our needed Emerald City refuge along the Yellow Brick Road. It is a perfect place in order to rest in the comfortable and cozy suites and rooms after the island’s excursions surrounded by the lush tropical mist forest of the Santa Cruz Island and by the variety of organic gardens. Nearby attractions include Paz de las Aves Bird Refuge (4.0 miles), Pacha Quindi Nature Refuge (0.6 miles), and Mindo Nambillo Cloud Forest Reserve (4.1 miles).
