I couldn’t imagine sending her anywhere else.I currently have a 10th grader and 6th grader and the experience at Severn has been great. However, an extreme lack of diversity, as a student of color, definitely contributed to my average high school experience.

One reviewer wrote about a "type" and they are correct. He has already learned so much and loves to share his day to day experiences (which I never heard about from him while in his previous school). The administration failed to take action. Everyone is supportive and very intelligent. It is what you make of it, though.

The final factor in the decision was Severn’s focus on community and character. It is an extremely nurturing environment with small class sizes and teachers that care deeply about the kids.

Severn School was an experience, to say the least. However, as a former student ambassador, I can say with confidence, that the administration is slowly, but surely, working to increase the student body's diversity and social awareness. The Lower School is the happiest place of learning I have ever seen.

The academics are very good, and the teachers are very helpful, but sometimes I get comments about my race that aren't very nice.My daughter attends the Lower School. The preparation he received at Severn gave him the academic foundation to succeed as well as the confidence to meet the challenges of an Ivy League university.Severn School is an amazing community.

Not to mention, with the cost of the school, I would expect so much more amenities in athletics, clubs and food options.

Our son is learning to be an outstaing person with great character.My son began Severn School this year and he loves it! Academically, I would say that in many ways, it could be considered superior.
