The Imaginary is a book of two halves; one half is guided by Amanda's journey and the other Rudger.

Join our fleeing felines in this laugh-out-loud magical adventure. He was Glastonbury Festival Website's Poet-In-Residence in 2008, and Poet-In-Residence at Cheltenham Literature Festival in 2010. Mr Bunting made the plot slightly eerie, but I couldn't help feel sorry for the guy - what happened to him to make him like that. Harrold, this beautiful book is astoundingly illustrated with integrated art and colour spreads by the award-winning Emily Gravett.
It's a little bit dark and some of them are quite scared at some points but no complaints so far!

Some are fun, while others are chilling, such as the series of images that uses alternating all-black pages to lead into a harrowing portrait of the evil Imaginary girl, staring right at Amanda as she tries to hide. Harrold is an English poet. In the book, there’s a girl called Amanda and her imaginary friend called Rudger (not RODGER!). Events in the story lead Amanda to begin to forget abouThis is a really wonderful story that reminds everyone who reads it about being imaginative, adventurous, loyal and a good friend.

After Mr Bunting hits Amanda with his car, it leaves Rudger alone and helpless close to fading away forever, when he comes across a cat who leads him to a whole collection of imaginaries that have been forgotten by their original owners, and these lead them in the path to finding Amanda again.• I like this book for a class project, it allows for the class to indulge in a world which is similar to their own with an element of magic. Introducing “for every occasion”, the category of Imaginary Book Stack in which I imagine a book stack and its accompanying accessories, whether it be for my ideal imaginary first day of spring, summer camping adventure, snow day…whatever I’m dreaming up. There's friendship and peril, and a very nasty character who wants to eat all of the Imaginary friends.
and, in a starred review, Kirkus Reviews found it "Wonderfully entertaining." I really liked it.” I’m giving this book a 3.5 star rating.Though I'm not a fan of Amanda's character, I like the overall story. This book would be great for a creative writing lesson where children could make their own imaginary and give it a suitable personality. I love how all the imaginaries congregate in the library as although they don’t originate in books, parallels could be drawn between the fictitious world of books and imaginary friends. They liked the story so I kept reading, and luckily it was OK, but still, I probably wouldn't have picked this book. For some reason I was expecting this to be tragic à la A Monster Calls, but it's not, and apart from a few PG scary bits and a touch of dark humor, it's all positivity and jolliness and adventure. He writes and performs for adults and children, in cabaret and in schools, in bars and in basements, in fields and indoors.
Received this book in my child’s Prime book box and WOW. (Elephant & Piggie Like Reading!) This was such an interesting and quirky read!
I loved the characters, and the storyline and I found Amanda's imaginary world fascinating. However, they are interrupted by Mr Bunting who hunts imaginaries like Rudger. It is so wonderful that stories like this exist for children. This was such a unique story, a concept that I’ve never read before. Please try againSorry, we failed to record your vote.
