For me, the lanterns, decorations, cute souvenirs, tea houses and the cute village vibe was sufficient to steal my heart. There are some tea houses there, try one famous with the Ghibli movie and not worth at all. Jiufen is also really small, so you’d likely be done with it after 2-3 hours.But personally, I think it’s still worth a visit! But a small break in schedule allowed us to squeeze in a trip there and back, even if it was literally a whistle-stop visit.
